The new Beat It by SBS 6 program, a game show and singing competition collapsed, the stunner of Saturday night should be like it is on the transmitter. Losing has never been so fun, assures station manager Rene Oosterman.

In the competition each episode 18 candidates vying for the title of best singer of the night. The losers are eliminated in spectacular fashion. The one time they are by a missile over 11 feet in the air shot, other times they get a huge cake in their face catapulted.

Presenters Gerard Joling and Jan Smit behind the buttons. If a candidate in their eyes not good enough sings, print them inexorably to the elimination button. Whooping with laughter they see then how the poor singer suddenly overwhelmed with a yoghurtbom, sweeps away by a giant hand or a big ball ends up in a pool. “Sorry!” Laughs Jan apologetically.

Revenge
Presenter Kim-Lian van der Meij talk show together. They do not need any of the 40 merciless elimination ways to undergo themselves. “That’s a shame, because I’m quite a daredevil,” says the presenter. “Kim is a piece of cake,” winks colleague Jan Smit. Maybe we can not change some jokes Joling.

Joling and Smit must meet the bucket. At the end of the program, if they themselves sing a duet with their favorite candidate, the dropouts may determine whether the duet of Jan or Gerard is best. The candidates have a medical certificate surrendered for the show. Some are quite nervous, says Kim, who has two shots behind. That is not surprising, if you see what awaits them. So are some candidates while singing suddenly screaming into a container with foam cubes.

But the candidates need not to worry, assures head game production Hans Rog, who has tested everything myself. He kept only here and there a scratch on left. Also, the elimination components extensively tested for puppets.

The singing competition from producer Talpa is August 30 at 20:00 CET. There are a total of eight shows. Every night is a winner with 10,000 home. The following week there are 18 new candidates ready.
