Two arrests at UvA demonstration for arson – Parool.nl

The demonstration against the UvA policy blowdown tonight two people were arrested for arson. That says a spokesman for the police

The detainees had tried statue The Lieverdje in fire stabbing. After the arrests came into clashes between the police and some demonstrators. Agents are cornered and overturned. According to the spokesman, the demonstration more peaceful.

The protest march began earlier in the afternoon led by the Maagdenhuis along some UvA locations including the Oudemanhuispoort and Bungehuis. The demonstrators shouted slogans such as’ occupied block, this policy cock I do not ‘and’ hee, hoo, EB, here you get problems with it. ” They carry signs along with texts like “down with Executive Board” and “All power to students and teachers.”

A number of students at the beginning of the parade wore balaclavas. Police have asked to do, but students refused. At UvA buildings and buildings that the university, the students were short speeches held.

The demonstration was initiated by all the action groups and sympathizers, including The New College, Rethink Uva, Humanities Rally and ASVA student union.
